Lingerie should feel as good as it looks, and that starts with the right size. Most fit problems come from guessing, so take two minutes and a soft measuring tape before you order. Here is exactly how to do it.
What you need
- A soft (fabric) measuring tape
- A mirror, or someone to help you
- Thin underwear or no clothing over the areas you measure
How to measure
- Bust: measure across the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level all the way around your back.
- Waist: measure around your natural waist, usually the narrowest part of your torso, just above the belly button.
- Hips: measure across the widest part of your hips, just below your hip bones.
Keep the tape snug but not tight, and breathe normally. Write each number down.

Between two sizes?
- Babydolls and chemises are usually cut loose below the bust, so choose by your bust measurement.
- Bodysuits and teddies have to fit your torso as well, so if you are between sizes, the larger size is usually more comfortable.
- Panties and thongs fit best when you choose by your hip measurement.
- Harnesses are usually adjustable; check the size notes on the product page.
